Important Message – COVID-19 FJVA Update

To our esteemed clients, colleagues and collaborators,

As you may be aware, Malta has unfortunately now also registered a number of cases of  COVID-19. We at FJVA are monitoring the situation closely on a continuous basis and shall endeavour to keep you updated in this respect.

At this stage we do not consider the quality of our services to have been impacted by the current situation. The quality of our service to you, as our clients, remains our top priority as does the health and  safety of all concerned.

Our services will continue to be provided to you in the most efficient way possible. Nevertheless, we have to take care of the welfare of our staff and their families and abide by the directions given by the state administration and the country’s medical teams handling the situation. In this regard, we are announcing that as from Monday 16th March 2020, our offices will be on lockdown till the 20th March 2020 subject to any further considerations which may result through directives issued by the health and/or other authorities. Please note that we are pleased to inform you that our staff are well-equipped to keep on working remotely.

As a result we cannot exclude the possibility that our response time to your queries may be slightly delayed given the circumstances. Whilst we are sure you appreciate that these are unprecedented times and purely beyond our control as this is a force majeure situation, we ask you for your kind understanding.

We will continue to monitor the situation on a daily basis and will communicate with you and our staff as the situation unfolds.

A tribute to our Financial Controller David G. Debono

David was not only an excellent Financial Director of our firm, but he was, more importantly to me personally, a really true friend and advisor. We worked very closely together for over 15 years and every time there was a problem which we faced, he always found a solution to any such problem that would arise. Not having David around is not only a big void to our firm but also to me personally. I must confess that he was also a great mentor to many of our younger colleagues as he always gave them advice as if he were their own father. He will always be in our hearts. May he rest in peace.

FJVA charity contributions

FJVA regularly runs a policy of “dress down days” during which staff is encouraged to dress less formally and to make donations to various local charitable projects such as Migrant Woman Association, NGO’s for cat rescue, local children needing medical treatments abroad, Lions Club Sliema getting a guide dog etc.

Beside this, FJVA devote a percentage of its revenues to the Mimici foundation, created in memory of Mr. Francis J. Vassallo’s wife, to support education and health projects in Malta.

FJVA celebrated its 20th anniversary

To celebrate our 20th years of activities and to mark our vision for the future, we had 2 full days of celebrations on June 7th and 8th 2018.

In the evening of June 7th, we invited our foreign clients and friends to a cocktail reception on board of Fernandez, anchored in the Grand Harbour of Valletta, from where we enjoyed the pageant of the sea spectacle and fireworks commemorating the National Holiday.

The following day, our foreign guests were taken to a special guided tour of Valletta and Medina, personally arranged by us to provide them with an exclusive cultural and historical insight of Malta.

Concluding the two days celebrations, in evening of June 8th, we held a private dinner inviting our local business partners and most distinguished Maltese friends at the truly spectacular Lower Barrakka Gardens in Valletta. During the dinner, the worldwide acclaimed tenor Josepf Calleja gave a private performance as token of friendship to our founding partner Mr. Francis J. Vassallo.

While FJVA’s name and logo were projected against the view of Birgu surprising our guests, Mr Vassallo was taken my sincere emotions thanking all the present attendees, the local and foreign clients and friends, and especially FJVA’s team, for over two decades of successful work.
