Founded in Malta over 20 years ago by Mr. Francis J. Vassallo, the Francis J. Vassallo & Associates Group (FJVA) comprises a team of over seventy highly experienced multi-disciplinary professionals, providing corporate, tax and financial advisory services to international companies, family offices and private clients.
FJVA originally started in 1998 as Francis J. Vassallo & Associates Ltd, a corporate services provider company duly licensed and regulated under Malta Financial Service Authority (MFSA). Since then, through the incorporation of FJV Management Ltd (FJVM) and FJV Fiduciary Ltd (FJVF), both duly licensed, the Group has branched out into tax, trusts, foundations, regulatory advisory services and yacht registrations, amongst other services. FJVA’s vision has always been to become a one-stop-shop for clients whose international, multinational or multifaceted circumstances need a central advisory hub. Above all, FJVA prides itself in being a strictly independent firm run like a close-knit family business.
“Our focus on relationship management is what we believe sets us apart from competitors ensuring that our team of relationship managers, who represent a large segment of FJVA’s workforce, respond to queries promptly and satisfactorily.”
FJVA comprises highly-skilled professionals of different backgrounds, among which are internationally-qualified and practising tax advisors, corporate lawyers and accountants.
Apart from English and Maltese, various other languages are spoken at the firm, including Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Danish, Hungarian, Polish, Bulgarian, Slovak, Czech, Serbian, Croatian and Macedonian.
This multi-lingual team, spread across the firm’s tax, legal and accounting divisions, keep a finger on the pulse of any new challenges and opportunities arising in the financial sector whilst also reacting dynamically and efficiently to market changes.
Although FJVA reacts enthusiastically to new market opportunities, and in doing so further enhances relations with existing clients, the founding ideology of FJVA remains carved in stone: only bona fide business is welcomed. Or, more emphatically, the relationship that grows with clients is based decisively on mutual honesty and ethics.
On the 20th anniversary of the firm’s operations, FJVA launched its Serviced Office initiative, which aims to support clients with an on-the-ground back-office and advisory presence located within, or close to, the firm’s head office.
Looking forward, the firm intends to dedicate more resources to some of its core specialisations, especially reporting & compliance as well as regulatory advisory services, trusts & foundations as well as yacht registrations, sectors which continue to experience rapid growth in Malta.
Furthermore, FJVA is making inroads into the South American, Asian and Middle Eastern markets, leveraging on its reputable and experienced background in international taxation and especially in reporting and compliance, areas it is confident will see additional growth in the years to come.
FJVA is a member of the International Fiscal Association (IFA) and participates actively in all their conferences worldwide.
Various FJVA’s professionals are members of the International Bar Association (IBA), the Malta Chamber of Advocates, the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners (ISFI), the International Tax Planning Association (ITPA), the UK Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Malta Institute of Accountants (MIA), the Malta Institute of Taxation (MIT), the Malta Association of Compliance Officers (MACO) and the Malta Institute of Management (MIM).
Our reward is in providing tailored solutions in the most efficient and ethical manner whilst nurturing lasting relationships for mutual growth and success.
Francis J. Vassallo, founder of FJVA, has a simple explanation for his company’s 20-year continued success: keep things ethical, be honest with regard to client needs and, above all, always put the client first, before anything.
He places client satisfaction at the nucleus of his group’s success. It is precisely this satisfaction that has opened up opportunities for referrals.
“Francis J. Vassallo & Associates Ltd. has been an incredible support for setting up our group of companies, talking to the regulator - the MFSA - helping us to set up the entire ecosystem of Mediterrania Capital Partners, but more importantly helping us on a personal level; looking for schooling for our children, accommodation for the family, organising the residency permits and helping us to settle into this welcoming and beautiful country, Malta”
Founder, CEO and Managing Partner, Mediterrania Capital Partners

No one stands by the firm’s ethical mission more than Mr. Vassallo.
Indeed, he emphasises honesty as the company’s entrenched priority, a value he has always expected from his colleagues, a team which has grown from just two, namely himself and his daughter Adriana, to over seventy multi-lingual and multi-disciplinary professionals today.
“The most important asset the firm has is our people.”
The formula has nurtured mutual respect between FJVA and its clients, where over the years relationships have grown from strength-to-strength. In fact, Mr. Vassallo is proud to count most of the firm’s clients as personal friends.
Leaving no stone unturned in order to ease staff and clients’ busy schedules, FJVA offers a child care centre equipped with all the necessary facilities.
Naturally, the firm is actively engaged in supporting charitable projects and contributing to its local community, operating an internal fundraising policy as well as dedicating time to pro bono activities.
